A Thought for a Dreary Day

"The grand show is eternal.
It is always sunrise somewhere;
the dew is never all dried at once;
a shower is forever falling;
vapor is ever rising.
Eternal sunrise,
eternal sunset,
eternal dawn and gloaming,
on sea and continents and islands,
each in its turn,
as the round earth rolls."

- John Muir

Well look at Mr. Innocent! I love John Muir and used to have a little collection of quotes from him but they are lost. One was about rain clouds looking around for a place where they might do the most good. Another was describing ragged clothes as having "extravagant ventilation"!

There are some beautiful children's books about John Muir. One was illustrated by New York State's Thomas Locker.

I think it's time to find that book! If you no longer have it, replace it or borrow it from the library.

I thought extravagant ventilation were the swim suits at Pine Lake in the summer! Ha.
