As part of Johnstown (New York) Public Library's summer reading program and to commemorate the 400th anniversary of a famous voyage, five Johnstown families explored the Hudson River Valley with navigator Henry Hudson tonight.
With a little help from their parents, children created 3-D topographical maps of parts of the river, from high atop Mount Marcy in the Adirondacks, south to the mouth of the river in New York City, using salt dough.
Didn't they do a terrific job?

I bet all these kids in your Henry Hudson programs will remember doing this for the rest of their lives. They will always have a connection to the river.
Wouldn't that be grand? It's the little things that can have the greatest impact.
